This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Spearhead the design, modernization, and implementation strategies for enterprise Drupal solutions that are in line with DHS technical standards and hosted in the cloud.
• Define the architecture of Drupal applications, including both monolithic and headless/decoupled approaches.
• Establish architecture patterns, coding standards, and reusable modules.
• Direct the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of custom Drupal modules.
• Review and validate contributed modules as well as third-party libraries.
• Enhance Drupal performance through effective caching, content architecture, and page-rendering techniques.
• Architect integrations with identity solutions such as Okta SSO, data services, cloud hosting, and external APIs.
• Ensure the functionality of Drupal applications across DHS Headquarters and various enterprise systems and databases.
• Maintain compliance with DHS security directives, cloud security controls, and NIST-aligned safeguards.
• Validate compliance with Section 508 WCAG 2.0 A/AA accessibility standards and support Trusted Tester methodologies.
• Oversee functional, regression, accessibility, usability, and integration testing.
• Provide technical oversight for releases, migrations, deployments, and environment configuration in collaboration with DevOps teams.
• Assess emerging Drupal capabilities, frameworks, hosting models, and tools.
• Offer strategic advice to leadership on Drupal roadmaps, platform consolidation, and enterprise reuse strategies.
• Mentor developers, analysts, and architects.
• Produce or supervise SELC documentation, architectural diagrams, data flows, module specifications, and user/developer guides.
• Support governance reviews, change control, and technical assessments related to Drupal enhancements and modernization efforts.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 11 years of progressively responsible technical or functional experience in a specified technical area or specialty skill.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Capability to successfully complete a government-issued background investigation.
• Eligibility to obtain a Public Trust.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to inspire and lead technical teams.
• Microsoft Certification is preferred.
• Previous Public Trust or Security Clearance is preferred.
