Software Engineer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable backend services utilizing Python, Django, and Django REST Framework.

• Construct and document RESTful APIs leveraging DRF, OpenAPI, and Swagger.

• Execute data validation and model API responses using Pydantic.

• Create authentication and authorization frameworks utilizing django-rest-knox, OAuth, and MSAL/Azure AD integrations.

• Develop and manage frontend applications employing Nuxt 4, Vue 3, and TypeScript.

• Oversee frontend state management with Pinia and design responsive interfaces using Tailwind CSS and Nuxt UI.

• Design and enhance data engineering pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, validation, and delivery.

• Build and maintain ETL/ELT workflows utilizing AWS Glue, Pandas, NumPy, and various other tools.

• Create data transformation processes aimed at enhancing data quality, consistency, and usability downstream.

• Implement event-driven and asynchronous architectures using AWS SQS, SNS, Lambda, and EventBridge.

• Construct and support serverless applications via AWS Lambda and Mangum.

• Manage caching and session layers utilizing Redis/ElastiCache.

• Design and optimize PostgreSQL 14+ databases, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.

• Develop reusable modular adapter patterns for structured data entities and integrations.

• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS CDK and Terraform.

• Support containerization and deployment workflows using Docker and Amazon ECR.

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.

• Ensure software quality through unit, regression, functional, and load testing.

• Engage in code reviews, architecture discussions, and Agile ceremonies with distributed teams.

• Adhere to AWS security and operational best practices, including IAM, Secrets Manager, WAF, and secure credential management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python-based backend development, modern frontend frameworks, data engineering, and AWS cloud services.

• Hands-on expertise with Django, Django REST Framework (DRF), Nuxt, Vue, TypeScript, AWS serverless and infrastructure services, and AWS Glue.

• Experience in designing scalable backend services and RESTful APIs utilizing DRF, OpenAPI, and Swagger.

• Familiarity with Pydantic for data validation and API response modeling.

• Proficiency with django-rest-knox, OAuth, MSAL, and Azure AD integrations.

• Experience with Nuxt 4, Vue 3, TypeScript, Pinia, Tailwind CSS, and Nuxt UI.

• Data engineering experience involving batch and event-driven pipelines.

• Practical experience with AWS Glue.

• Strong background in data transformation, cleansing, normalization, and validation.

• Experience in building ETL/ELT workflows.

• Ability to work with structured and semi-structured datasets across cloud platforms.

• Experience with AWS CDK (Python), Terraform, Docker, Amazon ECR, and GitHub Actions.

• Knowledge of AWS services such as Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3, RDS, ElastiCache, CloudFront, ALB, ECR, VPC networking, WAFv2, Route 53, and EventBridge.

• Familiarity with pytest, pytest-django, Vitest, Vue Test Utils, Playwright, functional testing, regression testing, load testing, test coverage tools, and SonarQube.

• Proficient in Git/GitHub workflows and code review practices.

• Experience working in distributed Agile teams.

• Understanding of event-driven design patterns, cloud infrastructure, and serverless patterns.

• Preferred: SAS experience, OpenAPI specification and API documentation, AWS security best practices, encrypted field storage, and credential management.
