Software Engineer II – Query Processing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Enhance query processing efficiency through design, implementation, and performance evaluation.

• Engage in code reviews and contribute to design discussions.

• Investigate and apply innovative ideas, tools, or techniques to bolster system performance and reliability.

• Triage and troubleshoot issues in production and test environments.

• Aid in root cause analysis and resolution efforts.

• Foster improvements in team processes and culture through constructive feedback and active participation.

• Collaborate with fellow engineers through teamwork, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.

• Parse, validate, optimize, and execute SQL queries across vast amounts of data and distributed nodes.

• Work alongside Test Infrastructure, Quality Assurance, and Customer Operations teams on customer workloads and new features.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Over 2 years of industry experience in coding to address complex problems using an object-oriented programming language (e.g., C++, Java, C#).

• At least 1 year of professional experience as a Software Engineer utilizing Python or a similar test infrastructure language.

• Proven experience in measuring performance in compiled languages.

• Strong grasp and practical application of data structures and algorithms.

• Preferably experienced in testing the performance of data warehouses and data analytics engines.

• Familiarity with development on Linux and in large, version-controlled projects.

• Proficient in spoken and written English.

• Candidates must reside in the United States.
