Software Engineer II, Cloud Enablement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop features within the Temporal Proxy codebase, delivering production-level code primarily in Go or a similar systems programming language.

• Enhance request handling, configuration management, authentication/authorization integrations, and encryption-related functionalities.

• Implement and manage logs, metrics, and traces.

• Assist in troubleshooting issues within both staging and production environments.

• Create and uphold unit and integration tests.

• Work collaboratively with engineers from CGS, Security, Infra Foundations, and OSS Server.

• Produce documentation, examples, and enhancements to streamline the adoption and operation of the proxy.

• Aid in merging various proxy implementations into a unified, extensible, open-source, productized solution for clients and Temporal Cloud infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expertise in Go or another systems programming language.

• Understanding of service-to-service communication and fundamental concepts of distributed systems, including HTTP/gRPC and reliability principles.

• Knowledge of security basics such as mTLS, JWT, and OIDC/OAuth concepts.

• Capability to implement scoped solutions from start to finish, encompassing testing and documentation.

• Over 3 years of experience with proxy/gateway systems, cloud networking, service mesh concepts, or security-focused infrastructure (preferred).

• Familiarity with observability tools and operational practices (preferred).

• Contributions to open-source projects (preferred).

• Knowledge of Temporal concepts or a strong willingness to learn the platform (preferred).
