Software Engineer II, Backend – Batch Developer Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Decompose larger projects into manageable tasks and deliver them across multiple phases.

• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure timely project completion.

• Engage with product management, design, and analytics during the ideation and decision-making processes.

• Clearly communicate technical constraints and evaluate associated risks and trade-offs.

• Develop and track metrics for team outputs.

• Address issues proactively and support operational availability, including ongoing maintenance and on-call duties.

• Contribute to growth and development initiatives, such as participating in interviews.

• Create tools and systems that enhance batch development and testing processes, improving the reliability of essential batch workloads.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 1.5 years of experience as a software engineer.

• Proven experience in designing, developing, and launching backend systems.

• Proficiency in Python or Kotlin programming languages.

• Familiarity with distributed systems, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.

• Ability to devise solutions that involve interaction between multiple software components.

• Competence in writing clear, well-tested, and maintainable code.

• Comfort in navigating large codebases and debugging code written by others.

• Experience in providing constructive feedback through code reviews.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
