Software Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Utilize defined requirements and established software engineering methodologies to create software systems, subsystems, and enhancements.

• Independently execute detailed design and development tasks for individual software components.

• Integrate developed products either individually or at the subsystem level.

• Adhere to established software engineering standards.

• Support senior engineers in the development and documentation of software systems or subsystems.

• Commit to timelines and ensure adherence to predefined budgets.

• Design and implement software functionalities based on specified requirements and guidelines.

• Create technical documentation and presentation materials to facilitate design reviews.

• Engage in and lead software peer reviews to ensure compliance with established coding and implementation standards.

• Conduct coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the software development lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.

• At least 4 years of experience in software development.

• Design and develop software applications in accordance with established requirements and specifications using suitable tools.

• Maintain and update existing software applications with minimal oversight.

• Proven experience in developing new software features and enhancing current software.

• Experience in testing developed software following designated test procedures and addressing identified issues and shortcomings.

• Proficient in debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving reported software problems.

• Capability to obtain a Security Clearance.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting military, government, or technical training programs.

• Preferred: Proficiency in C# or other object-oriented programming languages such as C++ or Java.

• Preferred: Experience in developing or supporting web-based applications.

• Preferred: Familiarity with text-based structured data formats like JSON and XML.

• Preferred: Experience with modeling and simulation applications.

• Preferred: Knowledge of and experience with established software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.

• Preferred: Experience in developing software applications using gaming engines such as Unity and/or Unreal Engine.

• Preferred: Background in Flight Simulator Development and Delivery.

• Preferred: Experience with Wartsila NTPRO.
