Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain the primary billing and invoicing systems utilizing C# and PHP.

• Employ Claude and Cursor throughout the phases of design, implementation, testing, refactoring, and understanding of extensive existing codebases.

• Evaluate AI-generated code for accuracy, security, performance, and maintainability.

• Take ownership of architectural and design choices for billing system components.

• Facilitate technical discussions, engage in code reviews, and promote maintainability and performance best practices.

• Guide junior team members, including training on the effective and secure use of AI tools.

• Spearhead enhancements to CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.

• Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.

• Optimize database queries and system architecture to accommodate increasing merchant and transaction volumes.

• Apply security measures for sensitive payment and merchant information, ensuring compliance with PCI DSS.

• Relay project status, risks, and technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and QA teams during product launches.

• Identify, evaluate, and manage risks associated with the software development lifecycle.

• Provide feedback and resolutions for escalated support issues.

• Investigate and assess technologies and methodologies to enhance performance and developer productivity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in developing complex software applications within a collaborative, agile environment.

• Advanced expertise in C# and/or PHP.

• Strong grasp of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.

• Extensive experience in database design, optimization, and performance tuning.

• In-depth knowledge of security and compliance best practices, including OWASP and PCI.

• Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to mentor others and collaborate across teams.

• Experience in designing and architecting scalable, distributed systems.

• Capability to convert complex business needs into technical solutions.

• Proven history of conducting code reviews and maintaining coding quality standards.

• Demonstrated ability to comprehend, debug, and improve complex existing systems with minimal documentation and changing requirements.

• Practical experience in building production software with Claude and Cursor.

• Sound judgment regarding the appropriate use and limitations of AI tools.
