Software Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Work collaboratively with the product engineering team and/or relevant working groups.

• Perform regular audits of operational metrics and conduct in-depth log analyses to proactively identify anomalies and error conditions.

• Create and implement software tools for debugging, check-listing, and analyzing product metrics.

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for building releases and deploying them across testing, staging, and production environments.

• Analyze and triage customer escalations concerning product operations and behavior.

• Identify, mitigate, and resolve product-related bugs.

• Act as a Subject-Matter Expert during Technical Incidents.

• Conduct root cause analyses and implement incident mitigations.

• Promote iterative improvements to processes, strategies, tools, and frameworks.

• Develop high-performing and scalable software solutions.

• Oversee the upgrade and deployment of a vast network of production servers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field/experience.

• A strong interest in internet technologies and optimizations.

• Experience in developing and monitoring backend applications, including databases and queuing systems.

• Understanding of system limitations and their impacts on performance and scalability.

• Proficiency with technologies such as Java, Angular, Spring Framework, NoSQL databases, real-time service delivery, and containerization technologies.

• Expertise in scripting languages within a Linux/Unix environment, such as shell, Bash, Python, or Ruby.

• Comfort with basic statistical analysis.

• A passion for automation and creating tools to enhance development processes and minimize manual tasks.
