AI Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of AI product development from inception to deployment during client projects.

• Determine the features to develop and the approach to take by collecting requirements, questioning stakeholder requests, and prioritizing impactful initiatives.

• Rapidly prototype using LLMs and refine solutions for production with data pipelines, integrations, and assessments.

• Conduct enterprise-level data engineering, encompassing data ingestion, modeling, and ETL processes.

• Act as the main technical liaison for clients, working alongside their engineering teams and conveying technical information to executives.

• Enhance products with analytics, funnel metrics, and error analysis, followed by iterations based on actual usage data.

• Manage product reliability, security, and cost, which includes handling authentication, secrets, PII, and cloud cost management.

• Document insights gained for the benefit of the team, clients, and broader audiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid engineering principles in programming, debugging, and system design.

• Proven experience delivering a real LLM product with tangible usage, preferably involving error analysis and evaluations.

• Background in data engineering with expertise in data modeling, architecture, and ETL/pipeline tools such as Airflow, Dagster, Inngest, Prefect, or similar.

• Fundamental knowledge of web and infrastructure concepts, including authentication, web security, query profiling, CI/CD, and cost-effective deployment on major cloud providers.

• Regular use of contemporary AI tools like Claude Code with tailored workflows.

• High level of agency and capability to articulate ambiguous challenges, articulate assumptions, and progress work independently.

• Exceptional writing skills paired with a strong say:do ratio.

• Proficiency in TypeScript is a desirable asset.

• Experience in financial services, healthcare, or enterprise/contact-center AI is advantageous.

• Senior-level experience in client-facing roles is a plus.

• Familiarity with creating observability for AI products is beneficial.

• Active participation in the applied-AI community is a plus.

• Experience in building and deploying products from concept to completion, achieving real user engagement, and iterating on feedback.

• T-shaped skill set, with deep knowledge in ML, full-stack development, data, or security.

• Experience as a solo or founding engineer responsible for achieving results.
