Software Engineer II, Agentic AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with engineering leads, architects, product management, and delivery partners to grasp requirements and assist in formulating implementation strategies.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-native microservices and REST APIs utilizing Python, FastAPI, FastMCP, and Temporal.

• Contribute to applications powered by LLM and support development, deployment, observability, and operational services.

• Integrate PostgreSQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch.

• Deliver features through design, implementation, code reviews, testing, deployment, and production monitoring.

• Investigate and rectify defects in distributed systems using logs, metrics, and debugging tools.

• Contribute to containerized and event-driven services employing Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS.

• Write maintainable, thoroughly tested code and engage in peer reviews and technical discussions.

• Collaborate with Product Management, DevOps, Quality Assurance, security specialists, and fellow developers.

• Implement secure development practices, data handling, and responsible AI methodologies.

• Share knowledge, contribute to documentation, and mentor less-experienced team members.

• Stay updated with technical knowledge and propose practical enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Relevant professional experience in software development delivering production-level code in a collaborative engineering setting.

• Practical experience in developing web services, microservices, or REST APIs using Python or a similar language.

• Involvement throughout the software delivery lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.

• Strong Python development skills with the ability to produce readable, maintainable, and tested code.

• Familiarity with API development and frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.

• Knowledge of AWS services and concepts related to cloud-native applications.

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and Unix/Linux development environments.

• Proficiency in using SQL and data stores such as PostgreSQL or Redis, with a willingness to learn Elasticsearch.

• Ability to responsibly use approved AI-assisted development tools, validate generated outputs, and protect confidential customer and personal data.

• Legal authorization to work in Canada without employer sponsorship.
