Software Engineer – Embedded Linux

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software solutions utilizing C/C++ on Embedded Linux platforms.

• Create functionalities for communication, networking, and data management using both industrial and IP-based protocols.

• Establish scalable, reliable, and maintainable software architectures and system designs.

• Work alongside cross-functional teams to convert requirements into integrated software solutions.

• Diagnose and resolve software, communication, and system-level challenges throughout the product lifecycle.

• Ensure software quality through code reviews, unit and integration testing, and automated testing methodologies.

• Leverage data and technical insights to facilitate decision-making, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.

• Occasionally travel to international manufacturing facilities and attend customer or internal meetings when virtual participation is not feasible.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated experience in developing embedded software using modern C/C++ in Linux environments.

• Strong comprehension of software architecture, object-oriented design, multithreading, and embedded systems.

• Practical experience with networking, communication protocols, software testing, Git, and Agile development methodologies.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication abilities.

• Self-driven with the capability to work efficiently in cross-functional and global engineering teams.

• Preferred qualifications include experience with distributed systems, Qt/QML, STM32/ESP32 platforms, RTOS, CI/CD, UML, industrial communication protocols, cloud and IoT technologies, cybersecurity, data analytics, and relevant certifications.
