Software Engineer – Core Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and develop the core technology that powers Lime’s fleet of connected electric vehicles.

• Create backend systems that handle requests from IoT devices and consumer-facing applications.

• Enhance operational tools for charging, deploying, and maintaining electric vehicles.

• Address strategically important technical challenges and construct scalable foundational platforms.

• Revise existing core application experiences for better performance.

• Analyze and evaluate technology and architecture effectively.

• Develop scalable, efficient, and reliable software solutions.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering, Design, Data Science, Research, and Operations teams.

• Contribute positively to the company's engineering culture.

• Participate in an on-call rotation, responding to incidents, outages, and critical alerts.

• Diagnose issues, escalate incidents, coordinate service restoration, and conduct root cause analysis.

• Document issues and enhance service reliability to minimize recurring incidents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Applicants must be residents of Canada.

• At least 1 year of professional software development experience in the industry.

• Proven experience in building impactful products or systems.

• Proficiency in writing logical and maintainable code.

• Capability to provide constructive feedback during code reviews.

• Technical skills necessary to comprehend project and idea design and implementation.

• Excellent communication skills and effective prioritization abilities.

• Willingness to participate in a shared on-call rotation, including occasional after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage.

• Preferred experience in Ruby and Go.

• Experience collaborating with engineers as customers is preferred.

• Preferred background in building and maintaining scalable data ingestion pipelines.
