Software Engineer, Core Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create software solutions for various projects and features, focusing on backend systems and APIs for data ingestion, processing, and routing.

• Design, implement, test, and uphold clear, concise, and robust code.

• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to convert feature specifications into product designs and executable code.

• Develop comprehensive test plans and automated tests to ensure that product features function as intended.

• Assume full ownership of the software developed.

• Engage regularly in the team's on-call/support rotation.

• Assist the broader team in achieving desired objectives, including tasks beyond the formal job description.

• Fulfill stand-by, on-call, or off-hours responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Strong fundamentals in computer science: data structures, algorithms, networking basics, and operating system concepts.

• Enthusiasm for distributed systems and principles of scalability.

• Proven experience in building products utilizing large-scale data sets with Node.js/TypeScript.

• In-depth understanding of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and scalability principles.

• Familiarity with systems-level debugging, networking, performance profiling, and optimization.

• Capability to learn new technologies and diagnose complex issues.

• Experience with Agile methodologies and rapid iterative development.

• Strong sense of ownership with an emphasis on delivering high-quality, high-performance results.

• Background in developing software or services for cloud-based environments.

• Ability to meet U.S. government security requirements for access to FedRAMP-authorized systems, which may necessitate U.S. citizenship.
