AI First iOS Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop, enhance, and expand OPENLANE’s digital marketplace mobile interfaces.

• Implement iOS functionalities primarily using modern SwiftUI for both seller and buyer marketplace interfaces.

• Deliver flag-gated projects while meeting dual-OS PR gate standards with necessary support.

• Conduct unit and UI testing.

• Utilize AI tools on a daily basis to expedite coding, testing, and debugging processes, ensuring outputs are verified before merging.

• Collaborate closely with Product and design teams.

• Acquire knowledge of shared platform concerns under the mentorship of Senior staff.

• Partner with Android developers to ensure consistent product behavior.

• Engage in daily collaboration with Product Managers, designers, backend and platform engineers, QA, Senior iOS engineers, and the corresponding Android mobile team.

• Report directly to an Engineering Manager (Mobile).

• Employ AI-assisted coding, refactoring, test coverage, validation, debugging, root-cause analysis, documentation, and knowledge sharing practices to minimize repetitive tasks and enhance engineering efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional iOS development experience (or equivalent expertise).

• Strong proficiency in Swift.

• Experience in building applications with SwiftUI.

• Proven track record of shipping at least one app to the App Store.

• An AI-first mindset and active engagement with AI development tools, including critical assessment of their outputs.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Experience delivering production iOS features within a collaborative codebase.

• Solid skills in Swift and SwiftUI; willingness to work with UIKit where necessary.

• Familiarity with CI, testing, and code review practices.

• Growing sense of end-to-end feature ownership with guidance from Senior engineers.

• Interest in applying AI to real-world customer and business challenges.

• Ability to critically assess AI outputs rather than accepting them at face value.

• Adaptability in learning and evolving within a rapidly changing tool landscape.

• Basic understanding of networking and app architecture (such as MVVM or similar patterns).

• Familiarity with feature flags and mobile analytics.

• Experience with unit and/or UI testing.

• Willingness to advance in snapshot testing.

• Nice to have: Experience in snapshot testing.

• Nice to have: Exposure to SPM modules and shared UI component libraries.

• Nice to have: Experience in mobile marketplace or e-commerce.

• Nice to have: Interest in developing ownership in authentication, flags, and analytics over time.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with hybrid WebView surfaces.
