This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Acquire a deep understanding of the ‘Core’ team's domain and technology stack while proactively seeking guidance to enhance technical proficiency.
• Manage small to medium-sized features with support from senior engineers, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
• Write code that complies with established coding standards and engage in code reviews to learn best practices.
• Collaborate with team members to grasp feature requirements and implement solutions under guidance.
• Concentrate on developing reliable and maintainable software components, contributing to team outputs with an emphasis on quality.
• Utilize version control systems to oversee code changes and maintain a consistent development workflow.
• Participate actively in team meetings and sprint ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups and sprint retrospectives, sharing updates and feedback.
• Engage in learning activities, including game days and training sessions, to become familiar with the company's tools and processes.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues with assistance, learning to identify and fix common software bugs.
• Show willingness to collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders, developing the teamwork skills necessary for larger projects.
• Take ownership of the team's delivery pipeline, ensuring continuous optimization of code quality, testing standards, and deployment practices.
• Active involvement in on-call duties is required, with specific responsibilities defined by your assigned team and area of expertise.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 1.5 years of experience in a software engineering role.
• Programming Skills: Proficient in C#/.Net and knowledgeable about basic programming constructs and design patterns.
• Version Control Systems: Basic understanding of version control tools (e.g., GitHub) and their application for source code management.
• Unit Testing: Familiarity with writing unit tests to validate small software components and experience with test-driven development frameworks (e.g., NUnit, Jest).
• Distributed Systems Fundamentals: Basic knowledge of how distributed systems operate, focusing on building reliable components.
• Collaboration Tools: Experience using development collaboration platforms, such as Jira, Confluence, and GitHub.
