Software Engineer, Backend - Payments Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and deploy backend payment services in Go that handle high-volume fiat transactions across various payment channels.

• Manage projects from start to finish, encompassing technical design all the way to production deployment.

• Engage in the design and advancement of the Payments Platform's distributed systems.

• Take part in architecture discussions and conduct code reviews.

• Collaborate with product managers, senior engineers, and cross-functional teams.

• Convert product requirements into technical solutions aligned with a quarterly roadmap.

• Create backend services that facilitate fiat on- and off-ramps for Coinbase clientele.

• Work on payment channels, routing, and funds-flow infrastructure that links Coinbase products with global payment methods and financial partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 2 years of experience in building and operating backend services in a production environment.

• Strong proficiency in Go, Python, Java, or other comparable backend programming languages.

• Familiarity with relational databases such as Postgres or similar.

• Experience with service-oriented architectures.

• Knowledge of cloud-native development methodologies.

• Capability to deliver complete projects with high-quality, thoroughly tested code.

• Understanding of financial systems, payment processing, or robust transactional infrastructure.

• Responsible use of generative AI while ensuring human oversight.

• Must reside in the USA.
