This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kazakhstan, +1 more country.
• Develop Go microservices for the multi-tenant k0rdent AI platform.
• Design and model database schemas, along with writing migrations.
• Create public REST APIs utilizing OpenAPI and multi-language SDKs.
• Implement robust Temporal orchestration, ensuring idempotency, retries, timeouts, and determinism constraints.
• Establish event-driven asynchronous communication through distributed streaming or message-broker platforms.
• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms using OIDC/JWT, service-to-service authentication, tenant-scoped RBAC, gateway routing, and rate limiting.
• Participate in SCIM-based user and group lifecycle provisioning.
• Integrate platform API permissions with Kubernetes-native RBAC.
• Develop unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for every change.
• Monitor production services through structured logging, metrics, and audit trails.
• Package and deploy services using Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes.
• Review code from peers and troubleshoot incidents to identify root causes with regression coverage.
• Collaborate with engineering teams across the US, Europe, and India within an agile framework.
• Own features from start to finish, including API contracts, services, schemas, orchestration, tests, and packaging.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline — or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Strong foundation in computer science principles: data structures, algorithms, concurrency, networking, HTTP, and databases.
• 4–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2–3+ years of experience in building production backend services in Go; 4+ years preferred.
• Proficient in Go fundamentals, including concurrency, context propagation, error wrapping, and standard-library HTTP routing (Go 1.22+).
• Experience in building and deploying REST APIs, ensuring versioning and backward compatibility.
• Skills in relational database management: schema design, migrations, transactions, and query optimization.
• Knowledge of unit and integration testing practices, code review, and CI/CD methodologies (GitHub Actions or equivalent).
• Strong written English skills for drafting design documents, review comments, and engaging in asynchronous collaboration.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to conduct independent research, experiment, and read source code.
• A completed project that the candidate can discuss in detail.
• Openness to receiving thorough code reviews and constructive feedback.
• Capability to articulate how code quality and correctness are ensured.
• Prior experience with multi-tenant SaaS or PaaS platforms, k0s, GPU infrastructure, AI/ML workload scheduling, SCIM, Kubernetes RBAC, sqlc, OpenAPI code generation, observability tools, Python or TypeScript, security engineering, or CNCF contributions is a plus, but not required.
