Software Engineer, Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, support, and maintain back-end components for both internal and open-source projects.

• Create and sustain REST and GraphQL APIs, services, command-line tools, data models, and integrations using languages like Python and Go.

• Engage with containerized applications and their supporting services utilizing technologies such as Docker and Docker Compose.

• Contribute to the automation of infrastructure and deployment tools using technologies including Ansible and Terraform.

• Proactively investigate technical issues, assess potential solutions, and manage the implementation, testing, and release processes.

• Write and uphold automated tests while actively participating in code reviews.

• Adhere to SpecterOps's code style guidelines and development protocols.

• Contribute to and maintain technical documentation.

• Support internal users who face challenges with project components.

• Monitor and engage in external discussions, issues, and pull requests on GitHub concerning open-source projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in software design and application development.

• Proficient in developing extensible APIs and highly maintainable services.

• Professional experience with back-end programming languages such as Go, Python, or equivalent languages.

• Familiarity with relational database technologies, especially PostgreSQL.

• Experience with Git and modern collaborative software development practices.

• Background in developing or supporting containerized applications using Docker or similar technologies.

• Ability to independently troubleshoot issues, make informed technical decisions, and take full ownership of projects until completion.

• Capability to learn new technologies and domain concepts as project requirements evolve.

• Strong attention to detail, complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Skill in organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks.

• Candidates must be authorized to work and reside in the United States.

• Preferred: Experience with Django, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Docker Compose, Ansible, or Terraform.

• Preferred: Familiarity with cybersecurity, penetration testing, red team operations, or other adversarial security disciplines.
