This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.
• Design, implement, and maintain various phases of applications.
• Contribute actively to every stage of the development life cycle.
• Write high-quality, testable, and efficient code.
• Ensure that designs adhere to established specifications.
• Suggest enhancements to improve current application processes.
• Prepare and produce software component releases.
• Develop application code programs.
• Create and execute unit test plans.
• Support formal testing efforts and address defects discovered during testing.
• Provide technical support and consultation regarding application and infrastructure inquiries.
• Build innovative solutions within the engine layer of the Iris platform.
• Collaborate with engineers and developers to design tools that deliver technical solutions to complex challenges.
• Report directly to the VP of Engineering.
• Must hold an active TS/SCI clearance or be eligible for one.
• Candidates must be U.S. citizens.
• Must reside within the contiguous United States.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in a software engineering position is required.
• Expertise in at least one programming language, along with good experience in several others, such as Python, React, or Java.
• Familiarity with public cloud services like AWS, Google Cloud, or Rackspace.
• Experience in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production software.
• Strong coding skills with a focus on quality and testability.
• Solid understanding of DevOps and software/application development methodologies.
• Experience with continuous integration and software configuration management tools/processes, including GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, and Nexus.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases along with query optimization.
• Experience in gathering client requirements and addressing workflow issues through automation optimization.
• Proven ability to creatively tackle technical challenges.
• Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively within small teams.
• Preferred: experience with AWS SDK, AWS API, AWS CLI, and AWS CloudFormation.
• Preferred: familiarity with population simulation or other types of data simulation.
• Preferred: experience in geospatial engineering.
• Preferred: experience with Big Data processing technologies such as Spark/Hadoop, Google BigQuery, AWS Athena, and EMR.
• Preferred: strong data visualization skills.
