Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

• Take ownership of features throughout the entire development lifecycle: from design and creation to testing, deployment, and maintenance.

• Develop maintainable, high-quality, and reliable solutions that can scale with business growth.

• Grow and learn through collaboration with team members and engineering leaders.

• Construct and enhance Sodatone’s analytics platform powered by AI and machine learning to identify and assess emerging music talent.

• Leverage data from streaming services, social media, and other sources to assist A&R teams in artist identification, trend monitoring, talent scouting, and artist development decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• Over 4 years of experience in backend or full-stack development.

• Capability to source, extract, and integrate diverse data from the open web using innovative methods.

• Proficient debugging skills.

• Strong grasp of testing, monitoring, and incident management processes.

• Familiarity with AWS or other major cloud computing platforms.

• Thorough understanding of APIs, backend services, databases, data pipelines, and data warehousing.

• High level of ownership and a commitment to making an impact in a fast-paced, evolving, and ambiguous environment.

• Eagerness to grow, learn, and excel in software development.

• Experience with Ruby on Rails, Postgres, TimescaleDB, Snowflake, TypeScript, React, React Native, and AWS is advantageous but not essential.
