Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Develop a new TypeScript system to replace the current PHP system.

• Provide maintenance and support for the existing PHP system during the transition period.

• Take ownership of features from the requirements phase to production, encompassing decomposition, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and support.

• Break down feature requests into actionable tasks, estimate the required work, and deliver results independently.

• Produce clean, tested, production-ready code.

• Make informed technical decisions and communicate trade-offs effectively.

• Monitor production features through logs, metrics, and alerts.

• Refactor, document, and minimize technical debt.

• Investigate development escalations and engage in incident response activities.

• Create runbooks and maintain comprehensive documentation.

• Participate in a shared on-call rotation.

• Write unit and integration tests.

• Actively engage in code reviews.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and engineering teams.

• Contribute to sprint planning and technical discussions.

• Mentor L1/L2 engineers at L3+ levels.

• Lead domain incident response and establish standards for AI tools at L4.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven, hands-on experience with TypeScript.

• Previous professional experience working with PHP.

• Required hands-on experience with integrating Stripe and PayPal.

• Familiarity with TypeScript/Node.js.

• Experience working with PHP versions 7.4/8+ and Laravel.

• Knowledge of MariaDB and Redis.

• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, SQS, and S3.

• Proficiency with Docker.

• Familiarity with GitHub Actions for CI/CD.

• Ability to utilize AI coding tools daily for code generation, debugging, test writing, codebase exploration, and enhancing code review processes.

• Capability to comprehend and assess AI-generated outputs.

• Competence in writing unit and integration tests.

• Ability to engage in code reviews.

• Capacity to respond effectively to incidents and development escalations.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation after the ramp-up period.
