Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain data collection integrations and connectors with external systems.

• Integrate with REST, GraphQL, webhooks, and various third-party APIs.

• Create scalable data pipelines for the collection, processing, normalization, and transfer of large data volumes.

• Implement OAuth, API keys, tokens, and various authorization mechanisms.

• Manage pagination, rate limits, retries, API inconsistencies, schema alterations, and data freshness.

• Construct reusable infrastructure and frameworks for new integration development.

• Monitor and enhance the reliability, performance, and scalability of connectors.

• Investigate intricate integration and data quality challenges across multiple systems.

• Translate customer data needs into technical solutions in collaboration with the Product team.

• Oversee integrations from the initial design phase through production and ongoing maintenance.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to broaden Extract's integration ecosystem.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Strong backend engineering expertise with experience in building production systems.

• Extensive experience with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL APIs.

• Solid understanding of HTTP, OAuth, authentication, cookies, and webhooks.

• Experience in building or maintaining data pipelines, integrations, connectors, or data ingestion systems.

• Proficient SQL skills with experience in handling structured and semi-structured data.

• Proficiency in Python or another backend programming language.

• Capability to analyze third-party APIs and effectively transform documentation and behavior into reliable production integrations.

• Familiarity with Rust is considered a strong advantage.

• Experience with ETL/ELT, Reverse ETL, data integration, or data movement products is beneficial.

• Knowledge of cloud storage and data platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is a plus.

• Experience integrating with databases, data warehouses, SaaS applications, advertising platforms, or analytics systems is advantageous.

• Background in designing connector frameworks or integration SDKs is favorable.

• Experience with high-volume or distributed data systems is a plus.
