Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Partner with company stakeholders to design, configure, maintain, and promote both internal and external applications while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards.

• Monitor, test, and enhance software to maintain reliability and adhere to architectural standards.

• Contribute to the continuous delivery of code using deployment tools and automated testing practices.

• Scale and sustain applications for dynamic teams in a rapidly evolving environment.

• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver solutions focused on customer needs.

• Utilize GitHub Copilot and other AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, and debugging, adhering to prompting and code review standards.

• Design and develop Generative AI features such as chat interfaces, document summarization, intelligent search, and automated content generation using Azure OpenAI Service and related APIs.

• Construct and integrate RAG pipelines with vector databases like Azure AI Search, Pinecone, and pgvector.

• Implement Responsible AI practices, including bias awareness, handling of PII, and content safety reviews.

• Provide operational maintenance, troubleshooting, and support for relevant backend systems.

• Participate as a member of an autonomous agile team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required.

• Proficiency in a range of object-oriented programming languages.

• Experience with web and cross-platform technologies.

• Practical experience with Git and code management practices.

• Familiarity with continuous delivery and automated testing methodologies.

• Knowledge of relational and unstructured data repositories.

• Experience utilizing Scrum, Kanban, Lean, or other agile methodologies.

• Proficient in React.

• Experience with MS VB and C# .NET frameworks, including Web Forms, Windows Forms, .NET Web API, Entity Framework 6.4, MVC Pattern, and SPA Framework.

• Proficient in JavaScript and relevant frameworks, including React JS.

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle, including stored procedures and scripts.

• Familiarity with Azure services, such as Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage Account, Azure Key Vault, Azure Cosmos DB, Service Bus, Azure App Service, Azure VMs, and Azure Table Storage.

• Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD.

• Working knowledge of GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding assistants, including effective prompting and reviewing AI-generated code for quality and security.

• Understanding of Generative AI/LLM concepts, Azure OpenAI Service, prompt engineering, RAG, and vector databases.

• Awareness of Responsible AI principles, including bias, PII handling, and content safety.

• Excellent communication skills and experience using MS Teams.

• Ability to work effectively within a cross-disciplinary team.

• Willingness to work weekends as needed.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Dapper, RESTful API/Web API, WCAG 2.1 and ARIA, Power BI, Selenium, or similar testing frameworks.

• Preferred: Azure AI certification or demonstrated proficiency in equivalent skills.

• Preferred: Coursework, certifications, or project experience in machine learning, NLP, or applied AI/ML.

• Experience with handling confidential data is a plus.
