Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute and oversee both fundamental and intricate systems analysis, design, and development tasks.

• Act as an individual contributor on sophisticated projects.

• Maintain an exceptional functional comprehension of the supported applications.

• Guide and supervise less experienced team members while coordinating development activities.

• Develop and manage the technical aspects of project plans.

• Engage in systems development tasks from technical analysis through to user acceptance testing.

• Create and evaluate test data, implement detailed testing plans, and carry out debugging processes.

• Assess complex interrelations among programs, interfacing applications, and platforms.

• Offer analytical consulting and leadership in recognizing and executing information technology solutions.

• Draft and review technical and functional specifications, updating systems documentation as necessary.

• Create charts, tables, and diagrams to aid in problem analysis.

• Prepare and assess project evaluations, covering tasks, timelines, and effort estimations.

• Ensure the efficient operation and effectiveness of supported applications.

• Suggest new technologies, policies, or processes and take part in technical evaluations of vendor software.

• Adhere to and advocate for development standards and procedures.

• Maintain an understanding of the supported business functions, processes, operations, and strategic direction.

• Assist in formulating expense and capital budgets.

• Comply with risk and regulatory standards, policies, controls, and internal control standards.

• Identify risk-related issues that necessitate escalation to management.

• Foster an environment that supports diversity and reflects the Bank's brand.

• Implement internal and external audit recommendations and address any regulator-raised issues as applicable.

• Undertake related duties or projects, including due diligence, cost/benefit analysis, and business studies.

• Operate under the Technology Team Lead while independently managing high-level systems analysis and technical development phases.

• Oversee project-based activities of others and evaluate staff performance.

• Interact with senior management, technology personnel, clients, and vendors.

• Provide support to higher management and serve as a technical representative on committees or ad-hoc projects.

• A minimum of an Associate's degree and 5 years of experience in systems analysis/application development, or alternatively, a combined minimum of 7 years of higher education and/or work experience, including at least 5 years in systems analysis/application development.

• Familiarity with application development software and hardware platforms.

• Proficient in using personal computers, project management software, word processing software, and spreadsheet software.

• Capability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with previous experience presenting to relevant audiences.

• Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.

• Detail-oriented approach.

• Strong lateral thinking abilities.

• Experience coordinating between Applications and business units.

• Proven experience in recommending and implementing systems solutions.

• Background in driving project milestones and meeting delivery deadlines.

• Good understanding of the Bank's application framework.

• Subject matter expertise in the business, including knowledge or experience in utilizing the supported application/system.

• Advanced understanding of supported applications and interfacing/integrated applications.

• Ability to work effectively in both team environments and independently.

• Capacity to multitask across various components of complex projects.

• Advanced knowledge and focus on the entire system for projects outside of normal business-as-usual activities.
