Senior Industrial Engineer, Project Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Assist with projects focused on the implementation of both new and existing business operations, site consolidations, relocations, and automation solutions.

• Develop, validate, and utilize tools and standards for both the department and the DSV organization.

• Confirm customer requirements and devise comprehensive solutions for new or expanding business ventures.

• Provide Project Managers with estimations, status updates, escalations, and feedback on scope changes.

• Gather and organize customer requirements for warehouse relocations, which include electrical, data, IT equipment, MHE, storage, automation, and regulatory or security needs.

• Collaborate with general contractors on greenfield or brownfield projects regarding building shell and property specifications.

• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of warehouse and distribution center solutions.

• Evaluate and enhance workflows related to inbound, putaway, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, and value-added services.

• Specify facility, process, and equipment needs while achieving alignment with stakeholders.

• Assist with the implementation of warehouse technology and distribution systems, including WMS platforms.

• Formulate implementation plans, timelines, and task lists in collaboration with Project Managers and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Identify, assess, and acquire capital equipment and necessary assets.

• Foster relationships with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and customers.

• Aid in the integration of automation and material-handling solutions.

• Ensure adherence to customer requirements, safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices.

• Manage multiple projects, identify risks, resolve issues, and ensure successful outcomes.

• Present project updates, business cases, presentations, and recommendations to leadership, customers, and executives.

• Work collaboratively with operations, engineering, IT, construction, and external partners.

• Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and supply-chain solutions.

• Support site assessments, commissioning, testing, operational launches, and warehouse/construction activities.

• Travel for project implementations, customer interactions, and business initiatives.

• Assist with standardization, continuous improvement, vendor onboarding, budgeting, peer coaching, and special projects.

• Oversee vendors executing project work and facilitate peer onboarding as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A four-year degree is a fundamental requirement (Industrial Engineering preferred).

• At least 6 years of experience in the Logistics/Supply Chain Industry.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in the implementation and design of warehousing solutions.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Teams, and SharePoint.

• Experience with AutoCAD LT.

• Familiarity with WMS functional processes.

• Strong English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal communication and language abilities.

• Advanced communication and facilitation skills across all organizational levels.

• Strong writing capabilities with experience in documenting design methodologies for logistics solutions and RFP responses.

• Previous experience interacting with end users, vendors, and clients is preferred.

• Experience in a 3PL environment is preferred.

• Familiarity with warehouse automation applications is preferred.

• Experience supporting BRD creation, detailed design, procurement, and vendor management is preferred.

• Capability to lift up to 40 lbs while adhering to proper lifting procedures.

• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours daily.

• Capacity to perform necessary physical activities, including reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, handling objects, and using computer and telephone equipment.
