Industrial Engineer, Project Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Assist in the execution of projects involving new and existing business ventures, site consolidations, relocations, and automation solutions.

• Develop, validate, and utilize tools and standards for both the department and the DSV organization.

• Assess customer requirements, devise comprehensive solutions, and carry out assigned solution tasks.

• Provide Project Managers with estimates regarding time, project status, escalations, and changes in scope.

• Gather and compile requirements for warehouse consolidations, relocations, and new real estate initiatives.

• Coordinate building shell and property specifications with general contractors for greenfield or brownfield projects.

• Spearhead the design, development, and implementation of solutions for warehouses and distribution centers, including layouts, processes, and equipment selection.

• Analyze and enhance workflows related to inbound, putaway, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, and value-added services.

• Specify facility, process, and equipment requirements and secure stakeholder alignment.

• Assist in the design and implementation of WMS and associated operational platforms.

• Formulate implementation plans, schedules, and task lists in collaboration with Project Managers and cross-functional teams.

• Identify, assess, and acquire capital equipment and other essential assets.

• Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and customers.

• Facilitate the integration of automation and material handling solutions.

• Ensure adherence to customer specifications, safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices.

• Oversee multiple projects, identify risks, troubleshoot issues, and drive project success.

• Create project updates, business cases, presentations, and recommendations for leadership, customers, and executives.

• Collaborate with operations, engineering, IT, construction, and external partners.

• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and supply chain solutions.

• Support warehouse and construction activities, including travel, site assessments, commissioning, testing, and operational launches.

• Travel as necessary for implementations, customer interactions, and business initiatives.

• Undertake additional duties and special projects related to operational enhancements, new business implementations, network expansions, and continuous improvement.

• Oversee vendors tasked with project-related work as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A four-year degree is a fundamental requirement; Industrial Engineering is preferred.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in the Logistics/Supply Chain industry.

• At least 1 year of experience in warehousing solution implementation and design.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Teams, and SharePoint.

• Knowledge of AutoCAD LT.

• Familiarity with WMS functional processes.

• Proficient in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.

• Strong interpersonal communication, facilitation, and writing abilities.

• Experience in documenting design methodologies to formulate logistics solutions and respond to RFPs.

• Capability to lift up to 40 lbs while adhering to proper lifting protocols.

• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours daily.

• Preferred experience with end users, vendors, and clients.

• Experience in a 3PL environment is advantageous.

• Six Sigma / Lean certifications are a plus.

• Preferred familiarity with warehouse automation applications.

• Experience in supporting BRD creation, detailed design, procurement, and vendor management is preferred.

• Base salary range of $83,000.00–$104,000.00 annually.
