Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of a well-defined feature or component from inception to deployment, encompassing design, construction, testing, and production performance.

• Convert requirements into actionable plans and specifications that can be executed by AI agents.

• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to resolve any ambiguities.

• Decompose work into manageable tasks and guide AI agents throughout the implementation process.

• Engage directly with code for debugging, navigating unfamiliar areas, and addressing complex edge cases.

• Determine testing scope and instruct AI agents to create tests.

• Conduct thorough reviews of all implementation outputs and confirm assumptions.

• Manage deployments via the team's CI/CD pipeline.

• Collaborate with DevOps on deployment strategies.

• Address production incidents and execute rollbacks when required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience with production services in a contemporary programming language such as Java, Python, C#, Kotlin, or Go.

• Proficient in building APIs and data models, which includes REST contracts, validating requests and responses, authentication, schema design, indexing, migrations, and SQL.

• Background in shipping and managing code within AWS or Azure environments.

• Familiarity with containers and CI/CD processes.

• On-call experience in diagnosing live issues using logs, metrics, and traces.

• Proven experience in writing unit and integration tests.

• Knowledge of secure coding practices, including authorization checks, input validation, secrets management, least privilege principles, and exclusion of PHI from logs.

• Strong reasoning skills regarding systems, data, and trade-offs.

• Experience in production environments utilizing agentic AI as the main development surface.

• Capability to identify and rectify subtle AI-generated errors prior to release.

• Bonus points for experience in LLM application engineering or modern TypeScript frontend development.
