This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Develop and manage backend services and batch pipelines that sort and extract information from large sets of documents using AWS Bedrock.
• Take full ownership of the pipeline, encompassing S3 ingestion, multi-format parsing, LLM and rules-based classification, OCR fallback, along with tools for accuracy, cost, and throughput optimization.
• Create an AI-driven pipeline for scanning unstructured data in documents.
• Handle unstructured data files from healthcare providers and health insurance across various document formats.
• Retrieve essential data elements for business logic and data validation purposes.
• Transform unstructured document scanning outcomes into structured business data that can be utilized effectively.
• Offer technical support and end-user troubleshooting for bug resolutions, feature enhancements, and guidance on usage.
• A bachelor's degree or higher is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in developing RESTful services and event-driven backends within AWS.
• Must be a US Citizen or hold a Green Card.
• Must qualify as a US Person and have resided in the United States for at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years.
• Must be willing and able to obtain a CMS T4 Public Trust clearance.
• Practical experience with AWS Bedrock or similar LLM platforms, including prompt engineering, structured output, model selection, and token/cost management.
• Proven experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, ECS/Fargate or Batch, ECR, IAM, KMS, and CloudWatch.
• Proficient in Python, particularly for concurrent processing in high-throughput batch workloads.
• Familiarity with document and text processing formats: PDF, DOCX, and email; experience with OCR tools like Textract, Tesseract, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases such as Postgres and DynamoDB, and experience with caching solutions like Redis.
• Competence in building Docker images and deploying them through CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Git, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with unit testing and code coverage using pytest or similar frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with agile development methodologies and tools, including JIRA.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas to diverse audiences and skill levels.
• Capability to provide technical assistance and troubleshoot for end users.
