This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and maintain client-facing components within a system that integrates a retreating monolith with expanding microservices.

• Scale the system to accommodate growing global demand.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in new regional markets.

• Productionalize and launch new features validated by market feedback.

• Collaborate with the development team in a team-oriented engineering environment.

• Provide on-call support and engage directly with clients as necessary.

• Conduct code reviews, take ownership of services, maintain automated testing, and facilitate rapid/continuous releases.

• Mentor junior developers.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3 to 6 years of experience working on a development team.

• Proficient in Java and comfortable with adopting new technologies.

• Experience in delivering reliable, high-performance REST APIs.

• Strong interest in optimizing database and query performance.

• Familiarity with Snowflake.

• Good understanding of scrum/agile development methodologies.

• Experienced in code reviews, service ownership, fully automated testing, microservices, and rapid/continuous releases.

• Experience with AWS or similar platforms.

• Comfortable being on-call for support and interacting directly with clients if necessary.

• Experience in mentoring junior developers.

• Quick learner with the confidence and humility to ask clarifying questions.

• Proactive, self-motivated, transparent, accountable, and communicative.
