Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and implement backend services, APIs, workers, and shared libraries to enhance cloud platform capabilities.

• Create systems to orchestrate workflows across services, including job submissions, execution monitoring, status updates, retries, cancellations, results handling, and operational visibility.

• Develop dependable asynchronous and event-driven systems utilizing queues, messaging, background workers, and durable state management.

• Collaborate on distributed execution processes, service-to-service communication, routing, acknowledgments, and failure recovery mechanisms.

• Construct and maintain cloud-native runtime infrastructure using containers, Kubernetes, deployment automation, and related tools.

• Integrate platform services with persistence layers, event streams, REST APIs, and internal service agreements.

• Enhance production reliability through metrics, tracing, structured logging, health checks, dashboards, alert notifications, runbooks, and incident follow-ups.

• Engage in code reviews and implement feedback to elevate work quality.

• Work collaboratively with platform, product, security, quality assurance, and application teams.

• Leverage AI and contemporary development tools to boost productivity, code quality, and speed of delivery.

• Trace jobs or tasks across supported services and deliver targeted improvements with well-defined tests.

• Take ownership of production features and services while assisting in onboarding and mentoring junior engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of practical experience in building and maintaining production software, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Proficiency in developing backend services, APIs, or background workers.

• Capability to write modular, readable, and efficient code independently, ideally using TypeScript and Node.js.

• Experience managing feature-level tasks with a moderate degree of ambiguity.

• Fundamental design skills for small to medium-sized systems or APIs.

• Knowledge of asynchronous and distributed processing principles, including task dependencies, state transitions, retries, cancellations, idempotency, concurrency, and timeouts.

• Familiarity with durable persistence, service integrations, and modern development and deployment methodologies.

• Ability to troubleshoot issues using logs, metrics, and operational tools.

• Experience in writing effective unit and integration tests.

• Basic understanding of quality, reliability, and security practices.

• Strong communication skills, realistic estimation capabilities, and an ownership mindset.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Capability to comply with U.S. export control regulations.
