Senior Agentic Engineering Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Execute AI-driven agentic projects and key engineering tasks.

• Develop and enhance a secure, reusable agentic engineering framework.

• Create and implement agentic frameworks and loop-engineering processes encompassing context loading, planning, coding, tool execution, testing, validation, recovery, self-correction, and human evaluation.

• Design, program, test, and manage skill files, tool definitions, prompts, schemas, personas, repository guidelines, and reusable harness components.

• Engineer MCP servers and their integrations with Azure DevOps, repositories, pipelines, engineering standards, and sanctioned enterprise knowledge sources.

• Construct and sustain Playwright as the testing and verification tool for agentic workflows.

• Identify and resolve application exceptions, production issues, and security vulnerabilities.

• Apply durable code corrections, automated testing, and verified remediation methods.

• Produce production-quality applications, APIs, services, and automation utilizing C#/.NET, Angular, Azure SQL, Python or TypeScript, Azure, Git, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD.

• Employ an advanced agent-based coding tool for autonomous, multi-step delivery, multi-file and cross-repository modifications, modernization, refactoring, test-and-fix cycles, code review, and documentation.

• Enforce quality, security, and governance measures, including automated testing, protected-branch approvals, least privilege access, secrets management, traceability, prompt-injection defenses, and safe tool execution.

• Monitor agent operations and delivery results for quality, reliability, cycle time, rework, cost, tool usage, and human intervention.

• Collaborate closely with the Sr. Director to translate priorities into an actionable backlog.

• Showcase progress, document standards, and impart knowledge to the existing engineering team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, at a minimum B2 level (90% fluency).

• Over 7 years of professional software engineering experience with senior-level design and hands-on delivery accountability.

• Proven experience in harness-engineering and loop-engineering, including tool invocation, structured context, planning and execution loops, evaluation, recovery, self-correction, and human review.

• Expert-level familiarity with at least one enterprise-grade agent-based coding tool.

• Experience with autonomous workflows, multi-file and cross-repository implementation, test-and-fix cycles, refactoring, code review, and validation of AI-generated code.

• Core engineering skills in C#/.NET, Angular, Azure SQL, API development, and OpenAPI specifications.

• Practical experience in Python or TypeScript for agent tooling and automation.

• Extensive knowledge of Azure, Azure DevOps, Git, pull requests, YAML pipelines, CI/CD, automated testing, DevSecOps, and Playwright for browser automation and test verification.

• Familiarity with MCP or similar integration patterns, including authentication, authorization, schemas, observability, error management, and safe execution.

• Strong communication skills, technical acumen, ownership mentality, and a solution-focused approach.

• Capability to convert unclear engineering challenges into effective, secure, and maintainable solutions.

• Ability to engage directly with a senior technology leader.

• Preferred: Experience with GitHub Copilot.

• Preferred: Experience with Claude Code.

• Preferred familiarity with Microsoft Foundry, Copilot Studio, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Azure API Management, Azure Functions, Application Insights, Key Vault, Service Bus, or Cosmos DB.

• Preferred experience in .NET modernization, SAST/Snyk, contract testing, evaluation harnesses, golden test sets, agent benchmarks, AI cost management, enterprise change management, privacy, security, architecture governance, and production support.
