Software Engineer 2 – Development Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the design and implementation of intricate, multi-component features and systems for Development Infrastructure offerings, while shaping the roadmap for the area.

• Create and sustain CI/CD infrastructure and tools that empower Engineering to develop and deploy changes with greater reliability and reduced effort.

• Design and enhance GitHub Actions infrastructure, foundational Docker images, and build/deploy pipelines to boost scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.

• Leverage AI tools to investigate and evaluate solutions, adapting generated changes to fit production constraints.

• Take ownership of on-call issues, including those that are complex and have unclear root causes, and address systemic gaps.

• Engage in planning sessions, code reviews, standups, and other activities throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Mentor fellow engineers on the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of hands-on engineering experience in building backend systems and/or platforms.

• More than 2 years of experience working with Python.

• Proven track record of delivering complex projects from inception to completion in a cloud-native environment.

• Experience in building or managing CI/CD, build, or deployment systems in a production setting, including on-call and incident response duties.

• Knowledge of distributed systems, containerization, and microservices.

• Practical experience with Generative AI tools in everyday engineering tasks.

• Experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD systems.

• Familiarity with GitHub Actions.

• Proficiency in Go.

• Experience with Bazel.

• Background in working with Engineering Effectiveness, Engineering Productivity, Development Experience, Development Infrastructure, or similar teams.

• Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, or related technologies.

• Acquainted with Generative AI tools like Codex and Claude, along with experience in driving AI-centric workflows and solutions.
