Software Engineer 1 – Data Platforms

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the design, development, and functioning of essential components within Abnormal’s data platform.

• Create tools and services that enable other teams to adopt and expand data systems effectively.

• Automate infrastructure and operations to enhance reliability, performance, and scalability.

• Utilize GenAI techniques to create more intelligent experiences for developers and operators.

• Collaborate with various engineering teams to address scalability and reliability issues.

• Manage projects and deliver features from start to finish with support from senior engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in software engineering; experience in backend, distributed systems, or infrastructure is preferred.

• Proficient programming abilities in Python, Go, or a comparable language; experience from school, personal projects, or work is considered.

• Strong foundations in software engineering, including data structures, writing clean code, testing, and debugging.

• A keen interest in learning about AWS, Databricks, databases, streaming, and orchestration technologies.

• Demonstrated curiosity and strong problem-solving capabilities.

• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Preferred: experience with Kafka, Kinesis, or Flink.

• Preferred: familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Preferred: exposure to large-scale or data-intensive systems.
