AI Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and manage ETL/ELT pipelines that transport data from APIs, SaaS applications, CRMs, and transactional databases into Snowflake.

• Model data within Snowflake to ensure it is clean, reliable, and suitable for analytics and product use.

• Develop and sustain integrations throughout the tech stack, choosing between off-the-shelf connectors or custom code based on the situation.

• Collaborate closely with product and business leaders to transform ambiguous inquiries into clear data solutions.

• Leverage AI tools and agents to enhance productivity and automate manual workflows within the team.

• Take ownership of projects from start to finish: identify challenges, suggest solutions, implement them, and consistently refine them.

• Establish the data foundation that supports a US startup partner's product and strategic business decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in data engineering with a focus on building production pipelines using Python and SQL.

• Strong proficiency with Snowflake, including aspects of data modeling, performance optimization, and cost management.

• Experience in integrating various data sources and orchestrating pipelines utilizing Airflow, dbt, Fivetran, Airbyte, or similar tools.

• Background in developing AI agents or workflows powered by LLMs that utilize company data.

• Business acumen and product awareness, with the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders and prioritize based on impact.

• Exceptional spoken and written English skills.

• Ability to thrive in an early-stage, uncertain environment.

• Preferred experience as a startup founder or co-founder.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, testing, and data version control best practices, including Git, dbt tests, and data quality assessments is preferred.

• Cloud experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure is preferred.
