Software Development Manager

📋 Description

• Oversee the Search squad at Frame.io, focusing on the development of search functionalities and secure workflow capabilities.

• Empower engineers through coaching, providing technical mentorship, removing obstacles, and enhancing their influence.

• Guide the squad in creating ambitious, top-tier applications.

• Champion engineering excellence and actively participate in application architecture and overall structural design.

• Harmonize workstreams between squads and bridge communication gaps.

• Collaborate with engineering, product, design, user insights, and QA teams to define and prioritize engineering tasks.

• Offer technical guidance and take responsibility for the team’s technical choices.

• Cultivate, educate, and maintain a successful team within an agile framework.

• Share ownership of squad strategy alongside product, design, and senior stakeholders.

• Promote cultural and process enhancements throughout the engineering organization.

• Actively engage in coding tasks by providing feedback and participating in quarterly Manager Hack Weeks.

• Contribute to the growth and culture of the engineering team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in planning, executing, and delivering projects involving multiple engineers and squads.

• Familiarity with a complete web application stack.

• Background in leading teams and providing both formal and informal feedback.

• Proficiency in React, Next.js, Apollo Client, TypeScript, GraphQL Codegen, and Styled Components.

• Experience with Elixir, Postgres, OpenSearch, Redis, and AWS.

• Demonstrated history of delivering aesthetically pleasing and high-performance software.

• Skilled in developing secure and robust code.

• Enthusiasm for innovating performance through load optimizations, pre-fetching, and animations.

• Strong commitment to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and safe workplace.

• Passion for collaborating with design from initial concept to final production.
