Software Development Engineer – OpenText Exstream

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Engage in the complete life cycle of software development.

• Develop or adjust software functionality based on functional specifications, which includes testing and debugging.

• Assist in system and solution integration testing as well as user acceptance testing.

• Deliver prompt resolutions to any issues that arise.

• Take part in code reviews, design reviews, and other quality assurance procedures within the team.

• Aid in release management, configuration, build processes, and ticket management.

• Regularly coordinate and communicate with project team leaders and members.

• Test and implement new features and fixes for both internal and production applications.

• Collaborate with client-facing teams to offer technical support and address application-related issues.

• Carry out system maintenance and monitoring to fulfill contracted service level agreements and meet industry standards.

• Design and develop all solution layers in collaboration with the Scrum Master and product owner in an agile team setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

• Preferred 1-3 years of experience in the IT industry.

• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies; knowledge of SAFe is advantageous.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Proficient in creating variables and mapping them to data files.

• Experience with structured data files utilized as Driver files and reference files.

• Skilled in providing data file properties and assigning mapping datasets.

• Competent in configuring variable data types and output formats.

• Experienced in using copybook and/or layout data properties for data mapping.

• Knowledgeable in adding pages/messages and creating overflow pages in Exstream applications.

• Experienced in designing user-interactive components in Exstream.

• Proficient in designing complex tables/charts, outputs, business rules/functions, barcodes, and placeholders.

• Experienced in configuring intricate triggering logic.

• Skilled in assigning variables for shared objects and functions.

• Proficient in packaging, testing, and debugging applications.

• Capable of working in Unix/Linux environments.

• Able to support version upgrades for existing OpenText Dialogue applications.

• Knowledgeable in Linux/UNIX/Windows operating systems.

• Familiar with C#, .NET, Python, or other high-level programming languages.

• Knowledgeable in KSH scripting or other scripting languages.

• Familiar with database technologies such as Oracle and SQL Server.

• Capable of analyzing problems and identifying potential solutions.

• Able to communicate technical topics effectively to both technical and non-technical staff.
