Software Development Engineer in Test, Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Establish the testing strategy and performance quality benchmarks.

• Automate the software development lifecycle (SDLC) pipeline from testing to deployment and validation.

• Diagnose and resolve issues related to deployment.

• Determine root causes and offer recommendations for solutions across various environments.

• Design and sustain automated testing frameworks, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

• Develop and manage test plans and test cases specifically for microservices.

• Collaborate on integration testing with other engineering teams.

• Propose enhancements to testing environments.

• Research requirements for safe deployment and rollback strategies.

• Confirm deployment prerequisites throughout the deployment process.

• Create and maintain scripts for automating platform service deployments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Proficient in Python and Pytest.

• Solid understanding of contemporary testing methodologies.

• Familiarity with Perl and Golang.

• Experience in debugging processes.

• Comprehension of x86 and ARM architectures.

• Knowledge of Debian packaging, apt, and dependency management.

• Strong Linux fundamentals, particularly in performance tuning.

• Basic knowledge of Bash and scripting.

• Understanding of virtualization and containerization technologies.

• Experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Jenkins, Github Actions, and SaltStack.
