Senior Test Automation Engineer, Salesforce, Cypress

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, execution, and enhancement of a Cypress.io automation framework tailored for Salesforce applications, Experience Cloud, integrated web applications, and essential end-to-end business processes.

• Establish automation architecture, coding standards, repository structure, reusable commands, fixtures, test data patterns, environment configuration, tagging, and reporting guidelines.

• Create and maintain smoke, regression, integration, end-to-end, API, and selected component testing suites.

• Develop an automation roadmap that prioritizes high-risk, high-volume, and business-critical Salesforce journeys.

• Engineer robust automation for dynamic Lightning DOM behavior, asynchronous processing, authentication, role-based access, data dependencies, integrations, and multi-environment execution.

• Integrate Cypress execution within CI/CD pipelines and release workflows.

• Set up test observability and quality metrics, utilizing insights for ongoing enhancement.

• Construct secure, repeatable test data and credential management practices.

• Conduct exploratory, functional, integration, regression, and release-readiness testing when automation is not feasible or human judgment is required.

• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, architects, developers, and administrators to enhance testability and acceptance criteria.

• Diagnose failed tests and application defects, document findings, and collaborate on resolutions.

• Review automation code, mentor quality engineers and developers, and advocate for production-quality testing practices.

• Assess Cypress capabilities, plugins, Cypress Cloud, and AI-assisted test authoring.

• Contribute to QA governance, release management, Agile ceremonies, test planning, risk reviews, and continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 7+ years of experience in software quality engineering and test automation.

• 3+ years of testing Salesforce solutions in complex enterprise environments.

• Advanced hands-on experience with Cypress.io automation using JavaScript or TypeScript.

• Experience in designing or significantly scaling automation frameworks.

• Strong testing expertise in Salesforce across Lightning Experience and Salesforce clouds or platform technologies.

• Proficient in REST and GraphQL API testing.

• Experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and source control workflows.

• Familiarity with GitHub, Bitbucket, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.

• Experience with Jira, Xray, Confluence, or equivalent tools.

• Background in developing quality strategies, risk-based test plans, automation backlogs, traceability, and quality reporting in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Experience in diagnosing flaky tests, enhancing suite performance, managing parallel execution, and maintaining automation across multiple environments.

• Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong fundamentals in software engineering, version control, code reviews, debugging, documentation, and maintainable test code practices.

• Ability to translate business processes and technical architecture into risk-based automated test coverage.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Demonstrated leadership through influence, mentorship, collaboration, and ownership.

• Capability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and set priorities effectively.

• Preferred: Salesforce Administrator, Platform App Builder, Platform Developer I, or relevant Salesforce Consultant certification.

• Preferred: Cypress certification, recognized test automation certification, or equivalent deep expertise in Cypress.

• Preferred: Experience with Cypress Cloud, Okta or SSO authentication, accessibility testing, performance testing, AI-assisted test generation, Postman, SoapUI, Selenium, Playwright, Jest, and automation portfolio modernization.
