Automation Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the automation architecture and roadmap for the Security Architecture & Engineering team.

• Prioritize automation tasks based on where they deliver the highest value.

• Design and develop production-level automation solutions using Python.

• Integrate various platforms and systems utilizing APIs.

• Create and manage AI-enhanced and agentic workflows.

• Establish the harness strategy for agentic workflows, encompassing agent scaffolding, context, tools, and output evaluation.

• Ensure human judgment remains integrated when necessary.

• Set and maintain engineering standards for code reviews, version control, testing, and deployment.

• Enhance and preserve the existing codebase for reliability and extensibility.

• Identify candidates for automation and collaborate with process owners on replacements.

• Provide technical guidance on cloud security and application security strategies.

• Oversee, develop, and support a small team of automation engineers.

• Define priorities, evaluate work, conduct performance and development discussions, and facilitate team growth.

• Recruit and onboard new automation team members as the team expands.

• Document systems to enable the team to operate, extend, and troubleshoot effectively.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent with over 4 years of experience in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field.

• More than 5 years of professional experience in security, software engineering, or a combination, including hands-on development experience.

• Proven experience in leading engineers, either as a direct manager or as a technical lead prepared to undertake people management responsibilities.

• Proficient Python skills applied to real-world systems, including data manipulation, API client creation, error handling, logging, testing, and packaging.

• Experience with system integration using REST APIs, covering authentication patterns, pagination, rate limiting, and retry logic.

• Sufficient security acumen to analyze automation data and assess the validity of outputs.

• Familiarity with concepts related to cloud security and application security.

• Knowledge of tools that generate findings related to cloud and application security.

• Experience with AI or agentic workflows in practical applications or demonstrated interest and capability to develop them.

• Proficient in Git and version control, including handling pull requests and conducting code reviews.

• Excellent written communication skills for documenting systems and clarifying design decisions.

• Sound judgment regarding the appropriate contexts for automation.

• Bachelor's Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
