Software Development Engineer in Test II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design and execute automated tests for the Fleet Ops initiative that supports backend services, APIs, and tools.

• Create and uphold test suites to ensure hypervisor upgrades and reliable service performance.

• Build and manage automated Python and Pytest test cases for backend control plane services, REST APIs, and CLI tools.

• Develop functional and integration tests for the lifecycle of virtual machines, live migrations, and KVM hypervisor updates.

• Incorporate test suites into CI/CD pipelines for consistent automated regression testing.

• Analyze test failures, pinpoint root causes, and collaborate with developers to address issues.

• Assist in the maintenance of software platforms and hypervisor upgrades within Akamai's growing cloud infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in software test automation or quality engineering.

• Degree in a technical discipline.

• Proficiency in Python programming.

• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks, particularly Pytest.

• Strong knowledge of Linux environments.

• Basic experience with CI/CD pipeline integration using tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

• Experience with frontend test automation utilizing TypeScript and web testing tools like Cypress or Playwright — a plus.

• Understanding of Linux hypervisors, KVM, VM live migrations, and low-level host stack operations — beneficial.

• Familiarity with SaltStack, Ansible, or ArgoCD for infrastructure configuration management — a plus.
