Software Development Engineer in Test – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create and implement detailed test plans and test cases that encompass both functional and non-functional requirements.

• Design and establish automated test suites utilizing suitable frameworks and tools.

• Develop the test automation framework from the ground up.

• Conduct manual exploratory, regression, and usability testing.

• Execute API testing to verify backend services.

• Create and maintain end-to-end tests for essential user flows.

• Work collaboratively with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to comprehend requirements and deliver product-quality feedback.

• Identify, document, and monitor defects using a bug tracking system.

• Analyze test outcomes and provide comprehensive reports on test coverage and quality metrics.

• Suggest enhancements to testing processes and contribute to overall product quality.

• Investigate and assess testing tools and technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in software quality assurance.

• Demonstrated expertise in both manual and automated testing of web applications.

• Strong grasp of software testing methodologies and best practices.

• Practical experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured).

• Proficient in an end-to-end (E2E) test automation framework such as Playwright.

• Experience in building test automation frameworks from scratch.

• Proficient in at least one programming language, with a preference for TypeScript.

• Familiarity with front-end technologies (React) and back-end technologies (NestJS) is highly desirable.

• Experience with specific testing tools pertinent to React and NestJS applications.

• Background in performance and load testing.

• Experience in security testing.

• Familiarity with CI/CD integration in Azure DevOps.
