Software Developer IV

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Participate in all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, verification, and maintenance.

• Establish a comprehensive technical understanding of client requirements and project needs.

• Collaborate with technical stakeholders to produce detailed work package estimates.

• Create, prioritize, assign, and track software development tasks for designated projects.

• Lead and coordinate daily activities for Engineering team members.

• Act as the primary contact for project team status updates.

• Design and develop software applications based on business and technical specifications using AI-assisted development tools.

• Develop and run unit, component, and integration tests.

• Conduct code reviews, including assessments of AI-generated code.

• Investigate and resolve intricate technical issues for assigned projects.

• Contribute to both technical and end-user product documentation.

• Implement secure coding practices while considering production observability, debuggability, and maintainability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 10 years of full-stack software development experience, including both frontend and backend.

• Expert-level knowledge of TypeScript, HTML, CSS/SCSS, Node.js, REST API design, and SQL-based database querying.

• Advanced proficiency in either Angular or React, along with a working knowledge of the other.

• Experience in writing incremental unit tests and applying coding best practices.

• Familiarity with relational and non-relational database design and development.

• Proficient in Git and Git-based CI/CD pipelines.

• Experienced with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code).

• Capable of evaluating when to accept, modify, or reject generated output.

• Skilled in providing effective context to achieve production-quality results.

• Experience utilizing AI to expedite test authoring, documentation, and routine refactoring.

• Knowledgeable about AI tool limitations, including hallucinated APIs, outdated patterns, security concerns, and the necessity for human verification prior to merging.

• Self-motivated and detail-oriented, capable of taking ownership from requirements through to release.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

• Comfortable collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders.

• Supports the development of other team members via peer reviews, pairing, and mentorship.

• Experience with ElasticSearch or alternative non-relational queries.

• Proficient in end-to-end test automation using Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred; Azure or GCP also advantageous), including experience with Redshift or similar data warehousing solutions.

• Understanding of secure coding practices and common vulnerability classes (OWASP Top 10).

• Experience in building software in an Agentic manner.
