Software Developer Internship

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Provide assistance and support for both production and non-production systems

• Manage and uphold internally developed automation scripts and processes

• Engage in the design and architecture of applications

• Convert business requirements into application features that cater to user needs

• Ensure that the code delivered adheres to performance benchmarks

• Collaborate with data services for cross-system functionality

• Participate in Agile development practices

• Be involved in gathering requirements and enhancing business processes

• Work alongside Business Analysts to relay system modifications to IT and business users

• Take part in both scheduled and spontaneous deployments

• Communicate with team members and management about best practices, challenges, needs, and architectures

• Assist in the development of infrastructure, hardware upgrades, performance improvements, and new system requirements through code modifications

⛳️ Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience

• Proficiency in Ruby or Python programming languages

• Experience with Ruby on Rails for web development tasks

• Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles and standards

• Knowledge of web-centric APIs (REST/SOAP) and data integration techniques

• Understanding of web development concepts and standards

• Experience with relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL, MSSQL, or similar)

• Familiarity with automation and orchestration tools (Jenkins, CircleCI, Ansible, etc.)

• Knowledge of Microsoft development technologies (C#/.NET Framework/ASP.NET, etc.)

• Experience with git or a similar version control system

• Strong analytical abilities

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Capacity to maintain the confidentiality of company information

• Relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
