This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Contribute to the design, development, testing, and upkeep of software solutions that support Liberty's Student Information System initiative.
• Develop Identity Management services along with core SIS applications.
• Collaborate closely with technical leads, business analysts, and fellow developers.
• Write clean and efficient code while participating in code reviews.
• Analyze code, identify bugs, and troubleshoot issues.
• Deliver code punctually and comply with established processes.
• Manage multiple technical challenges, tasks, deadlines, and shifting priorities.
• Establish and uphold coding standards while conducting regular code reviews.
• Make architectural decisions regarding individual features.
• Lead technical discussions and help build consensus among developers.
• Apply analytical thinking to software design and user experience considerations.
• Provide support during potential high or critical incidents outside of regular hours as required.
• Mentor junior developers and convert business requirements into technical solutions.
• Investigate innovative solutions to enhance features and improve user experience.
• Offer constructive feedback during code reviews.
• Assist in planning and structuring team development processes.
• Comply with Liberty University policies and represent the University in a professional manner.
• Work effectively within Liberty University's Christian model and mission.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is mandatory.
• At least 5 years of software development experience, including a strong portfolio of completed projects, is required.
• Capability to guide architectural decisions and lead technical discussions within the team.
• In-depth knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular) and back-end technologies (e.g., databases, Java, Node.js, PHP, Spring).
• Strong skills in designing scalable and maintainable systems and a solid understanding of design patterns.
• Proficiency in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control practices, along with knowledge of deployment strategies.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• Proficient in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing English.
• Strong interpersonal and public communication abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; capable of assessing situations, evaluating information, and solving both routine and complex problems.
• Ability to perform desk-based work, including computer use and data entry.
• Adept at communicating effectively in meetings and collaborative environments, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• A valid driver's license, acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance are required when driving for this position.
