Software Architect – R&D

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Define and advance the architectural vision for innovative products, platforms, and technology initiatives.

• Investigate emerging technologies, perform technical evaluations, and lead Proof of Concept initiatives.

• Design scalable cloud-native, distributed, and hybrid architectures.

• Set architectural standards, best practices, and engineering guidelines.

• Oversee the technical design of complex enterprise systems and those with high loads.

• Specify technology stacks and architectural principles for new solutions.

• Contribute to solutions leveraging AI/ML, Generative AI, LLM, and intelligent automation.

• Identify technical risks and formulate mitigation strategies.

• Assist engineering teams with intricate technical challenges and architectural choices.

• Conduct architecture reviews and assess technical solutions.

• Contribute to technical strategy, product roadmaps, and the long-term evolution of products.

• Support technology transformation and product modernization efforts.

• Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders on architecture and technology strategies.

• Mentor technical leads and senior engineers.

• Help cultivate an engineering culture, development processes, and DevOps practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in software development, architecture, and the evolution of products, platforms, and enterprise solutions.

• 4+ years in roles such as Software Architect, Enterprise Architect, Engineering Director, or similar architectural positions.

• Strong grasp of modern architectural patterns, software design principles, and distributed systems.

• Experience in defining architectural vision and steering strategic technology decisions.

• Proficient in evaluating technologies and architectural approaches in line with business goals, scalability, TCO, and long-term sustainability.

• Proven experience leading distributed engineering teams and technical initiatives.

• Experience in driving architectural initiatives across various products, platforms, or teams.

• Familiarity with collaborating with engineering, product, and business stakeholders.

• Experience in establishing architectural standards and engineering best practices.

• Expertise in designing cloud-native, distributed, and scalable systems.

• Proficient with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Experience in architecting highly available, resilient, enterprise-grade solutions.

• Knowledge of Kubernetes and container technologies.

• Familiarity with microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and API-first design.

• Strong hands-on software development experience.

• Experience with CI/CD, automation, and DevOps.

• Proficient in modern programming languages, cloud technologies, and enterprise platforms.

• End-to-end product and platform delivery experience.

• Practical expertise across relevant cloud, container, programming, frontend, data, messaging, DevOps, automation, observability, and monitoring technologies.

• Professional certifications in architecture, cloud platforms, or software engineering are advantageous.

• Practical experience with AI/ML, Generative AI, LLM, RAG, or intelligent automation is a plus.
