📋 Description

• Lead the advancement of the Kinaxis Maestro platform towards a cloud-native architecture.

• Establish and drive architectural foundations for massive scalability, elastic performance, and cost-effective execution.

• Design and enhance highly scalable, distributed, cloud-native architectures for essential platform capabilities.

• Influence the architectural strategy for backend data processing, query execution, and platform services.

• Set benchmarks for cloud-native design and guide decisions regarding distributed-systems architecture.

• Ensure that architectures are extensible and ready for production deployment.

• Act as a technical authority within Product R&D, influencing decisions related to cloud infrastructure, core platform services, and data systems.

• Mentor senior engineers and promote architectural rigor across various teams.

• Write code, develop prototypes, validate assumptions, and support reliable, scalable implementations.

• Collaborate with engineers, product leaders, and executives to convey complex architectural concepts effectively.

• Guide teams towards technically sound solutions that align with business objectives.

• Support platform modernization by re-architecting core data, query, and execution capabilities for cloud operation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Significant, demonstrated experience in building large-scale, distributed cloud systems.

• Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and evolving database, storage, indexing, query execution, caching, consistency, replication, or metadata management capabilities in large-scale distributed production systems.

• Extensive hands-on experience in building large-scale distributed systems in production environments.

• Strong foundation in distributed data processing, distributed databases, query engines, or platform-level data services.

• Profound expertise in cloud-native architectures, scalability, elasticity, fault tolerance, and cost-effective design.

• Ability to convert complex technical challenges into clear architectural designs.

• Capacity to work with ambiguous requirements and communicate robust architectural designs that meet stakeholder expectations.

• Practical experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with core infrastructure services.

• Proficiency in Go and/or other high-performance backend languages such as C++.

• Understanding of system performance, concurrency, consistency models, and operational trade-offs in distributed environments.

• Ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams as a senior technical leader.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to accelerate the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) through innovative application of AI or other tools while ensuring architectural consistency, secure design, and code quality.

• Capability to rigorously review AI-generated code for correctness, architectural fit, integration risk, and edge-case support.

• Nice to have: experience in designing platforms that support AI, agentic systems, or advanced analytics at scale.

• Nice to have: exposure to Data Fabric, semantic layers, or extensible platform architectures.

• Nice to have: technical leadership demonstrated through internal platforms, publications, patents, or contributions to open-source projects.
