Senior Full-stack Engineer – React, Node, Backend-Focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete lifecycle of product features, encompassing database schema design, backend implementation, frontend delivery, and production monitoring.

• Design, construct, and sustain scalable event-driven and distributed systems that ensure reliability and data consistency.

• Develop and enhance complex PostgreSQL queries, migrations, and transactional workflows to support high-performance financial operations.

• Create robust integrations with external systems through webhooks, queues, retry mechanisms, and reconciliation processes.

• Apply reliability engineering patterns such as idempotency, dead-letter queues, outbox patterns, and fault-tolerant processing.

• Build responsive, high-quality user interfaces utilizing React and Next.js.

• Participate in architectural decisions to enhance system scalability, observability, and operational excellence.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code or similar platforms to boost productivity and expedite delivery.

• Engage in code reviews, mentor fellow engineers, and advocate for best practices concerning sensitive financial and transactional data.

• Work closely with product, design, and engineering stakeholders to create outstanding user experiences.

• Implement and oversee observability and monitoring solutions using Datadog or OpenTelemetry.

• Contribute to infrastructure automation and cloud resource management through Infrastructure as Code methodologies such as Terraform or Pulumi.

• Ensure that engineering practices comply with security, compliance, SOC2, and PCI-DSS requirements where relevant.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Full-Stack Engineer delivering end-to-end production-ready applications.

• Strong expertise in TypeScript and Node.js.

• Advanced proficiency in React and Next.js.

• In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL and database engineering, including raw SQL, query optimization, migrations, and performance analysis.

• Proven track record in designing and maintaining event-driven and distributed systems.

• Strong understanding of idempotency keys, retry strategies, dead-letter queues, outbox patterns, and reconciliation processes.

• Experience creating webhook-driven architectures and integrating with third-party systems.

• Solid grasp of scalable system architecture, asynchronous processing, and fault-tolerant applications.

• Experience in financial, payments, billing, payroll, or ledgering systems.

• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code or similar coding platforms.

• Strong problem-solving abilities with a systems-thinking approach, paying attention to edge cases and data integrity.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate independently within high-impact engineering teams.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.

• Knowledge of observability and monitoring platforms like Datadog or OpenTelemetry.

• Experience in regulated or compliance-intensive environments, including SOC2 or PCI-DSS.

• Understanding of property-based testing frameworks such as fast-check.

• Experience optimizing applications for scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.

• Previous experience mentoring engineers and participating in technical leadership initiatives.

• Background in fintech or platforms with high transaction volumes.

• Exposure to modern AI-enhanced engineering workflows and automation practices.

• Experience collaborating within autonomous, product-focused engineering teams.
