Software Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Establish technical specifications and target architecture for new platform features through design, implementation, and release.

• Design and spearhead the delivery of agentic AI solutions, encompassing tool-using agents, evaluation methods, and secure integration into healthcare workflows.

• Architect and enhance MCP-based services that connect agents and applications to enterprise systems, data, and licensed functionalities.

• Manage the architecture for policy and governance services that regulate access, content decisions, and the use of data and AI in compliance with regulations.

• Develop demo and staging environments to ensure reliable presentations for customers and executives.

• Lead a small delivery team while actively participating as a hands-on player-coach; establish technical direction, review designs and code, and implement complex components.

• Present architectural designs, options, and recommendations to executive stakeholders.

• Utilize CI/CD, cloud, and Kubernetes deployment methodologies.

• Mentor developers to enhance design, security, and delivery quality.

• Generate and maintain technical documentation.

• Design and optimize relational, vector, and specialized data stores.

• Implement authorization, policy, and security measures for healthcare and regulated data.

• Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Development, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, with a focus on enterprise-level architectures, including hands-on design and implementation.

• Some experience in building or leading agentic AI solutions is essential.

• Proficiency in software architecture and design patterns relevant to cloud-native and service-oriented enterprise systems.

• Strong skills in Python and/or Java.

• Practical experience with cloud platforms, ideally Google Cloud, as well as containers, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Experience in designing REST APIs and distributed services.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Git, Jenkins, and JIRA.

• Database design and optimization experience, primarily with relational databases/PostgreSQL.

• Knowledge of enterprise frameworks like Spring or FastAPI.

• Some practical experience in agentic AI development, including LLM-based agents, tool usage or MCP, and evaluation design.

• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.

• Comfort working within healthcare or other regulated data environments.

• Ability to work on a computer for extended hours and communicate effectively.

• Minimum internet speed of 25 Mbps download and 1.5 Mbps upload.
