Software Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the Software Architecture Team within Boeing’s AvionX Mission Systems Software division.

• Oversee the design, development, testing, debugging, and maintenance of embedded software integrated into various devices and systems.

• Transform customer requirements into effective embedded software product designs.

• Provide consultation on embedded systems software pertaining to specialized hardware.

• Offer guidance on the integration of embedded software with hardware components.

• Manage the efficiency, stability, testing, and debugging processes of embedded software systems.

• Shape software development technologies, tools, frameworks, regulations, and methods for software/hardware integration.

• Monitor and assess the performance of internal and supplier software teams for compliance with project and industry standards.

• Deliver technical leadership in embedded software project management roles.

• Counsel management on matters related to embedded software engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent qualification.

• Capability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. Government mandates U.S. Citizenship.

• U.S. Person status is required for compliance with U.S. export control regulations.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience leading a software development team throughout the entire software life cycle.

• At least 5 years of experience in software architecture and the design of embedded software systems.

• Must pass the Company's Conflict of Interest assessment process.

• Required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process.

• Must fulfill U.S. export control compliance requirements.

• The employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.

• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

• Preferred: Experience with software architecture and design methodologies.

• Preferred: Background in real-time software, flight management systems, civil navigation, DO-178C, motion planning, estimation, control, MATLAB, Simulink, and C++.
