This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as a member of Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment teams.
• Assist in field assessment activities within designated disaster-affected areas.
• Evaluate and document the operational impacts that hinder access to human services.
• Utilize knowledge of human services to articulate the effects of disaster conditions on service providers and the populations they serve.
• Identify and record service access challenges related to child care, child welfare, elder care, intimate partner violence, homelessness, human trafficking, nutrition assistance, economic self-sufficiency, and disability support services.
• Conduct interviews and collect information from service providers, local officials, community partners, and authorized sources.
• Document observations, impacts, notes, assessment records, and necessary reports in designated systems.
• Collaborate with civil engineers and technical specialists concerning facility conditions.
• Identify service gaps, operational challenges, resource needs, and recovery considerations.
• Assist in creating assessment summaries, briefings, reports, and other mission-related documents.
• Provide social work, crisis support, resource navigation, or referral assistance within the mission's scope.
• Safeguard Personally Identifiable Information (PII), assessment records, and Federal information.
• Employ culturally responsive practices and accommodate individuals with disabilities and other access and functional needs.
• Engage in readiness activities, training, exercises, briefings, debriefings, hotwashes, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Ensure deployment readiness and respond within required operational timeframes.
• Operate safely in field and challenging environments.
• Exhibit outstanding customer service, prioritizing the needs of children, families, Veterans, and clients.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a closely related human services field is preferred.
• Advanced education in Social Work or a related field is highly regarded.
• Any licenses or certifications required for specific assignments must be current and maintained.
• Relevant experience in social work, human services, community services, needs assessment, case management, disaster response/recovery, or service-system coordination is preferred.
• Experience in evaluating barriers to human service delivery or working with vulnerable and disaster-affected populations is desirable.
• Must complete necessary screening, background investigation, credentialing, cybersecurity/privacy training, Rules of Behavior, role-based training, and standardized Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment training prior to accessing applicable Government systems or assessment records and before deployment, as required.
• Must maintain reliable availability while designated as deployment ready.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as operationally needed.
• Nationwide travel and deployment to disaster-affected locations is required.
• Ability to deploy within required contract timeframes, including the 48-hour surge requirement when applicable.
• A valid Driver's License with a clean record is required.
• Must have daily access to a vehicle without prior notice.
• Must be capable of working in disaster-impacted or austere environments.
• Must successfully complete and maintain all required screening, credentialing, background investigation, training, licenses/certifications when applicable, and security/access requirements.
